Artistic Director / Founder / Director of Dance Arts
Emily began her dance training in Kansas with training in all areas of dance, Acro, and musical theater. She was a collegiate dancer and was named a national award winner in several dance competitions. She transferred to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 2001 under the tutelage of the well respected, and nationally recognized teacher, Dr. Lisa Fusillo. Ms. Fullerton went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance.
During that time, Ms. Fullerton with Tasha Hubbard was asked to choreograph and produce Trepidations, which explored video with dance. She was also chosen to take her choreography and perform at the American College Dance Festival. Emily was asked to perform in New York City at the 2001, “Sharing the Legacy concert.” In 2004, she was honored to be chosen by Bill Hastings, an original member of Bob Fosse company. She performed his classical pieces, “The Frugue” and “Steam Heat” at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. She has worked with a number of nationally known artistic directors and choreographers such as Teresa Chapman, company member of ‘Cats’ on Broadway, and other guest artists throughout the world.
Ms. Fullerton was asked to be the rehearsal director for the Moscow Ballet Company. She was responsible for 70 dancers who were chosen from Lincoln and throughout Nebraska to perform with the Moscow Ballet Company. Emily was asked to teach, choreograph, and asked to judge for the National Dance Alliance for six years. She has been commissioned to choreograph for many competition dances and has received awards for her choreography. Ms. Fullerton is also trained in Pilates, Flexiblity training, stretch and recovery programs, and has received teaching certification in Acrobatic Dance from Acrobatic Arts, the Professional curriculum for Acrobatic Dance. She is also certified in PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique) and Alixa Flexibility.
Ms. Fullerton developed the successful dance program of En Pointe Dance Academy for 11 years, mentoring students and staff while establishing a diverse and positive dance education experience. Many of Ms. Fullerton's students have gone on to University dance departments and dance and cheer teams.
Ms. Fullerton is proud to be Artistic Director and Founder of the Nebraska Ballet Theatre & School. As Artistic Director she looks forward to continuing to offer new opportunities for dancers in Lincoln and surrounding areas.
